District Site Council (DSC)
The District Site Council (DSC) is a K-12 district-wide group of community members/leaders, teachers, administrators, and board representative(s) that make recommendations to the Board of Education regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment. They meet regularly at the district office. Each subject area in the district is studied in detail according to a schedule called the "USD 417 Long Range Plan," which the DSC oversees.
As District Site Council, DSC provides input on the steps of the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) growth process and reviews and provides input to the District Leadership Team.
Parents who would like more information regarding curriculum, KESA, or MTSS, visit the Kansas Parent Information Resource Center at www.kpirc.org or the Kansas State Department of Education at www.ksde.org.
